	It's time to sign up for our 2nd Portfolio Workshop! The workshop will be for beginning/intermediate children's book illustrators who are interested in putting together an effective portfolio either for the SCBWI Fall Conference in Birmingham on October 17th, or to show to Art Directors and Publishers in general. (You do not have to be a member of SCBWI to participate.)      We're thrilled to have two professionals as keynotes this year... Donna R. German, Editor and co-owner Sylvan Dell Publishing will give attendees pointers on what she typically receives and what she'd like to see in portfolios. Bring what you have, something slick, or works in progress, and Donna will give public, general overviews of the portfolios on hand so everybody can get an idea of what is or isn't working for her - they will be presented in the order of sign ups, so sign up fast! Our professional illustrator this year is Mark Braught. His workshop is entitled, "It’s All About You" and features your work, your ideas, your questions, your hopes & fears, your goals and thoughts on how you want to get there. What it takes & what you need. This will be followed by a group question & answer session to cover anything we may have missed. THERE IS A SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY (available to only 25 / first come, first serve) to create a finished piece and time to complete it so you can bring the finished art to the workshop (more on that once you register) with one-on-one consultation throughout the process.
