I'm proud to say GLITTER GIRL AND THE CRAZY CHEESE was the only new book in the MacAdam/Cage children's book catalogue presented at Book Expo 2005. It received a warm reception. (The other books are reprints of loved classics and award winners from around the world.)

"Picture Book Most Likely to Encourage Youngsters to Gobble Down Lunch-Fast: Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese by Frank Hollon, illus. by Elizabeth Dulemba, in which the cheese in a sandwich springs to life and dashes out the door."
                                                — Publisher's Weekly, "Silly Salutations of the Season"

"A delightful tale of food coming to life, Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese is cute. Glitter Girl’s mother won’t let her go back out to play until she eats her cheese sandwich; she refuses.
After, the cheese stands up, runs off the table and out the cat door. This leads to a madcap adventure around the neighborhood. Glitter Girl learns to eat her food - while she still can.
This book has a clear lesson while still being entertaining. The only thing to get past is the odd rhythm in the rhymes for this story. It is harder to set a pace trying to read it, but it is fun and funny. My five-year-old couldn’t stop laughing, especially at the end.
This book receives a solid four stars for hilarious content and excellent illustrations."

If you are looking for children books for a much younger generation, you might want to try Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese. This read aloud story is another one that is sure to bring laughter to your younger children as you read to them. The story is about a piece of cheese that tries to run away before Glitter Girl can eat it. Many children love it and enjoy looking at the great pictures too.

My son is 2 1/2, he loved the book. I didnt think he would like it because it seemed too girly, but he loved it. It is the first book he memorized. I had to read it 8 times in 2 days. Every night he says "mom let's read cheese". He loves the bright colors and the grocery store.

My kids favorite book. Recently when Jack and Molly (ages 3 and 7)were tent camping (in Jack's room) they had me read the book every night. They love the Crazy Cheese and the fact that it has eyes, mouth, legs and arms. It's hilarious for kids. They really like the illustrations of the cheese, the cat and Glitter Girl. Great looking book. Highly recommended for Kids.

We bought Glitter Girl and the Crazy Cheese last week, and our kids loved it. The story is written as a long poem, and it's quite funny following the brief adventure of Glitter Girl chasing a piece of sliced cheese (which was supposed to be her lunch) across town.
The illustrations are very good, too. I highly recommend Glitter Girl and The Crazy Cheese. It's a great book for small children.
