Note from the creator:
A little known fact about me is I grew up riding on the back of my father's motorcycle and actually met my husband, Stan, at a BMW OGA (BMW owners of Georgia) motorcycle banquet. He is a long-distance rider and has ridden one day a weekend for as long as I've known him. Although I don't do the distances he does, I did complete the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course and, for a while, had an R1200C - BMW's cruiser bike. Nowadays, I occassionally ride with Stan on the back of his latest beastie.
During the creation of this book, Stan was participating in the 2011 Iron Butt Motorcycle Rally - 48 states in 11 days. He rode from Atlanta to Seattle to begin the ride, then home from Los Angeles where the ride finished. You can follow his adventure on my blog - tag "motorcycles." This book is dedicated to him and all the motorcycle monsters in my family.
Groovy factoid: the muted color palette in this book is taken directly from old classic motorcycles (cafe racers).
Groovy Goal: to get the book into every Harley Davidson dealership across the country!
