Día de los Muertos

November 1st kicks off the two day celebration of the Day of the Dead, or Día de los Muertos, in Mexico (mostly). It sounds like a spooky holiday, but it's actually quite lovely. It's the day families visit the graves of their loved ones who have passed away. They fix up the grave site, leave tokens the person loved in life, and remember, honor, and pray for those who have passed.
Sugar skulls are often given, and the figures to the left are called Catrinas - aren't they fabulous? Click the images to find more information on them.
Couldn't we all benefit from a bit more of remembering those who came before us?
