Illustration Friday, Theme: Metropolitan
Well this is about as close as I ever get to drawing anything metropolitan. It's funny, a friend and I were talking about how sometimes our "styles" are defined by what we don't enjoy drawing - therefore you rarely see them in our art. Not saying I wouldn't give it a go if there was a need, it's just not what I seem naturally inclined towards. Hm.

Wow. That is beautiful--I feel thrust right into the middle of a great story. Those greens and oranges down below the heroes are brilliant. :)
Cool...love the p.o.v., the color palette and the textures.
I think it fits...lovely. I wish I could fly...
I really dig the perspective...great composition and juxtaposition of color with the black & white.
ron's right...would make a great story, wee pup escaping the great metropolis on his great bird...
cheers,
kerry
This is very cute and lovely:-))
And also a very original way of expressing the theme of I.F.
very nice.
I read an interview with Maurice Sendak onece and he said he originally thought of a story called "where the wild horses are" but changed it to wild things becuase he wasn't good at drawing horses!
very cute!!!
It's a great piece with a wonderful perspective. Love the dog - he's having quite an adventure - wish I could join him.

That is just SO cute! I love it.
My heart is 100% on the puppy's adventure. I love it!
Love this illustration - there's a real sense of it being just a snapshot of a bigger story.
I missed this during "metro" week... SO charming... "easy" looking, creative with unexpected pov, colors etc. I can hardly wait to look at your portfolio page(s).
