'Reading Rainbow' Reaches Its Final Chapter - from NPR. I hate to see it go. And it leaves the question, what will take its place? After all, literacy training isn't just about teaching children how to read, it's about teaching children to enjoy reading. How can we best do that?

What a bummer. I've used the series in the past to incorporate language arts with visual arts. Every class I've show those knows the theme song by heart and enjoy watching the series. Hopefully the next series will bring as much joy and literacy to a wide range of students.
