Making a Repeat Pattern
I used to make simple repeats when I worked for a children's clothing company (wayyyy back when). I occassionally still do it, like for the endpapers for Paco and the Giant Chile Plant (which I am using as the background for my website right now). But this is the best tutorial I've ever seen on making a complicated pattern in repeat. Check it out at Design Sponge!

Thanks for the link to Design Sponge. It was a fascinating and delightful journey into the textile world.
Thanks e. I just found a tip recently that relates to that and has been saving me lots of time. Intead of cutting the image apart and reassembling it. Bring it into Photoshop and select Filter->Other->Offset and select horizontal and vertical offsets that are half the height and width of the original image. Then your image is sliced and diced and your ready to add a center motif.
Oooo - so cool! Thanks for sharing Jenn!
